Oh, that finish line feeling!

If the past year has proven anything, it’s shown that the running community is resilient and that the desire to cross a finish line remains strong. We have also proven our ability to organize a race experience tailor-made to fit the needs of our environment and of our participants—your safety and the safety of our community is our top priority. While we don’t know if the 2021 VCU Health Richmond Marathon will be in Downtown Richmond or not, we can guarantee the same race attributes that made 2020 a success! #RunRichmond

Here’s what 2020 participants said
Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU for everything you all have been doing this year! I know it can’t be easy to have to switch to virtual and switch locations for in-person racing, but you all nailed it. I’m sure I was just one of hundreds of people sending you questions every day for the past 6 months and you all have been prompt and polite with your responses. I ran my race virtually in Loudoun County this morning and, while I missed the in-person race experience I’m used to, I was so thankful to still have the chance to meet my goal of running Richmond this year. Thank you all for your hard work to make this race the best experience possible in a pandemic!

Thank you to all the volunteers and staff! Today was a beautiful experience and it wouldn’t have been possible without you all! All class organizers!
– Siobhan Starrs
We ran our half today and y’all knocked it out of the park. The course was great. The packet pickup was super well organized and your volunteers are the best! We love running in RVA.
– Judy Yox
Thank you very much for making the Richmond challenge experience feasible with all the chaos going on around us. It has made some sort of normalcy for the running community.
– Daniel Lee Jordan
Great race! Finished the half marathon today. Richmond race shows an in person race can be done safely! Excellent support from workers, made my end of race memorable.
– Jane Brown
